Katyayani Beauveria – Natural Pest Control Solution
Katyayani Beauveria is a powerful biocontrol solution containing the spores and mycelial fragments of Beauveria bassiana, an entomopathogenic fungus known for its effectiveness in controlling a wide range of insect pests. Commonly referred to as the "white muscardine fungus," it offers an eco-friendly and sustainable solution for pest management.
Mode of Action:
When the spores of Beauveria bassiana come into contact with the target insect, they germinate and penetrate the insect’s body through its spiracles. The fungus then spreads inside the pest, depleting its nutrients and ultimately leading to death within 7 to 10 days. This biocontrol solution is effective through direct contact, meaning the pest doesn’t need to ingest it to be infected.
Target Pests:
Katyayani Beauveria is highly effective against a variety of pests across multiple insect families, including:
- Lepidoptera (e.g., borers, cutworms)
- Coleoptera (e.g., root grubs)
- Hemiptera (e.g., mealybugs, aphids, leafhoppers)
- Diptera (e.g., whiteflies, thrips)
- Hymenoptera (e.g., pseudo weevil of banana)
Dosage & Application Methods:
Soil Application:
- Mix 3-5 kg of Katyayani Beauveria with 200 kg of organic manure and apply evenly to moist soil (for 1 acre).
- For tree crops, mix 20 g with 1 kg of organic manure and apply around the base of the tree.
Foliar Spray:
- Mix 20 g of Katyayani Beauveria in 8 liters of water and apply at a rate of 10 kg per hectare. Spray directly onto the foliage, especially targeting the undersides of leaves, during the evening hours.
Drip Irrigation:
- Mix 20 g of Katyayani Beauveria per liter of water and filter the solution before applying it through the drip irrigation system, either pre or post planting. It is recommended to apply early in the morning or late in the evening.
